Knowing someone is written as an injury, and the depth is given in bone. The line concedes that the relationship reached her while refusing to treat that reach as a good thing.

Beers listed inside the speaker's inventory of self-soothing materials, alongside spite, tears, candles. The drink takes its place among the rituals of a coping that does not need anything from the addressee, and the list's compounding ("and...and...and...") makes the beer one of several adequate substitutes for what the relationship would have provided.
