The car not yet in the driveway as the ache of anticipation; counting down to the headlights marks the nervous hope before a date.

“I've gotten used to no one calling my phone”

The phone as the registry of the speaker's romantic state. Not silent, *gotten used to* silent, the temporal length of the disuse becoming the song's working condition. The accumulation the speaker has settled into rather than the wound she's nursing.
