“Does a scorpion sting when fighting back?”

Uncle Jerry references the folk tale of the Scorpion and the Frog (and the variant with the Tortoise) where a scorpion stings its carrier mid-river because it is simply in its nature to do so. He connects this to the speaker's self-characterization as someone who will always strike back, it's her nature.
