On the Road

Angela & Uncle Jerry compare the tumbling, unpunctuated flow of Maroon's chorus, where lines run together without stops, to the continuous, rolling language of Jack Kerouac's prose, particularly 'On the Road.' Uncle Jerry notes the language 'just flows and flows and goes and goes like life is a continuous rolling tumble, and you're almost not in control of it,' and wonders if Taylor is illustrating that she's not in control of the events.
