You've Got a Friend in Me
“The devil's in the details, but you got a friend in me”
Uncle Jerry identifies 'you got a friend in me' as an intertextual reference to Randy Newman's song from Toy Story. He reads the allusion as Taylor borrowing the film's message that friends bind together and everything comes out right no matter the obstacle, then setting it against the preceding devil imagery to create a contrast between cosmic difficulty and ordinary companionship. Angela adds that Taylor later 'manifested the Toy Story Five song for herself', connecting the allusion to Taylor's later professional involvement with the franchise.
